1. Severance
The warden of Shawshank Prison commits suicide, leaving behind an unsettling mystery that seems to be connected to a case from 27 years earlier.
The camera zooms in on a man in his car looking at a dog, after some time he suddenly slams his foot on the accelerator (although not a jump scare as such, the resulting loud noise during a quiet scene may startle some viewers).

After a long tense scene where Dennis climbs down a ladder into the prison septic tank, Dennis looks around and two eyes suddenly appear on screen as Dennis shines his torch on “The Kid” in the cage.

2. Habeas Corpus
Henry Deaver returns to Castle Rock and takes on the Kid as a client. A letter left behind by Warden Lacy sheds some light on the Kid's origins.
During a tense scene, Dennis senses someone behind him and spins around firing his gun (although it turns out to be a false alarm).

4. The Box

5. Harvest

6. Filter
Molly confesses her role in the death of Reverend Deaver. Henry's son Wendell arrives from Boston. The Kid is institutionalized, but not for long.
7. The Queen
Ruth explains her jumbled memories and time-skipping to her grandson Wendell, but the Kid's presence and her disorientation have tragic consequences.
Ruth picks up the chess piece and a dog suddenly barks at her.
